Email Templates

The email template system allows you to change the content and style of the various email notifications that are sent to buyers and sellers on your website.  The default templates will work without being edited, however it is strongly recommended that you customize the email templates.

The following email templates can be edited directly; each one consists of a subject and body text file:
Note: All email templates consist of a subject file and a body file designated by _body and _subject respectively.  Additional languages can be supported by copying and renaming the files with the language code appended.

[#SiteCurrency] the 3‑letter currency code for the default site currency
[#URL] Admin Control Panel > Site Preferences > Setup as the 'Secure URL'
ask_buyer_question Listing default files: ask_buyer_question_body‑en, ask_buyer_question_subject‑en
[Detail.ID] the listing ID number
[Detail.Title] the title of the listing
[Message] the message that was typed from the site
[Receiver.UserName] the user name of the person that is receiving the email
[Sender.UserName] the user name of the person that is sending this email

[Detail.ID] the listing ID number
[Detail.Title] the title of the listing
[Message] the message that was typed from the site
[Receiver.UserName] the user name of the person that is getting the email
[Sender.UserName] the user name of the person asking the question
Bidder_Bid ListingAction default files: Bidder_Bid_body‑en, Bidder_Bid_subject‑en
[Detail.Amount(currency(C|Detail.Listing.Currency.Code))] the amount of the bidder's current bid on the listing
[Detail.Listing.Currency.Code] the 3 letter acronym for the bidder's selected currency
[Detail.Listing.ID] the ID number for the listing
[Detail.Listing.Title] the title of the listing that the bidder bid on
[Detail.ProxyAmount(currency(C|Detail.Listing.Currency.Code))] the maximum bid the bidder entered
[Detail.User.UserName] the bidder's user name

[Detail.Listing.Currency.Code] the 3 letter acronym for the listing's currency

[Detail.LastName] the user's last name

[Message] the message the system generates
[Receiver.UserName] the user name of the user receiving the email
Report_Generation_Ready Report default files: Report_Generation_Ready_body‑en, Report_Generation_Ready_subject‑en
[Detail.ReportName] the name of the report being generated
[Detail.SecondsToGenerate(decimal(G))] the length of time the report took to generate
[Receiver.UserName] the user name of the user receiving the email (admin)
report_messaging_abuse UserMessage default files: report_messaging_abuse_body‑en, report_messaging_abuse_subject‑en
[Detail.Body] the body of the abuse message
[Detail.ID] the ID number for the message about the abuse
[Detail.ListingID] the listing ID number of the listing being referred to
[Detail.Recipient.UserName] the user name of the receiver
[Detail.Sender.UserName] the user name of the sender
[Detail.Subject] the subject of the abuse message
[Sender.UserName] the user name of the person reporting the abuse
